For over a decade, the Foundation for Feline Urban Rescue (FFUR) has been working to reduce the number of stray cats and kittens in Philadelphia by trapping, rescuing and placing cats/kittens in good homes. FFUR is devoted to giving these animals a second chance at a healthy, contented life with loving people.
Sarah has loved cats since she was a little girl. Her first cat, Snickers, owned her parents before she was born.
She later picked out Fluffy from the Marquette County Humane Society. Unfortnately, Fluffy was so pretty, that someone stole her.
Frisky was Sarah's next cat, and she's still around today at the ripe old age of 17, though living with Sarah's parents where she has a big yard to chase birds in.
Maddie, a FFUR success story, is currently the one sleeping at Sarah's feet, while Indy keeps Krista's head warm at night.
At the tender age of 4, Krista found a stray cat hiding in a tree and managed to convince her mom that he should be her constant companion.
Growing up, she was the happy human of several cats (Chloe, Emily, Sarah, Piggy and Murphy), but after the birth of a little brother, she became petless.
She decided that as soon as she got a home in the real world, she would get a kitty. After moving to Philly, she got Indica from a friend in Utah, and Maddie followed soon after. Life hasn't been the same since.
